Yes, it's a thing and quite frankly there isn't a whole lot else "just like it". Don't get me wrong. For those of you who absolutely MUST avoid all things dairy, the industry has really kicked it up a notch in recent years.
If you've never made real whipped cream, to taste, for yourself or a loved one, you're missing out.
The beauty of real whipped cream is that it's made with all of the fats, nothing left out.
You can accomplish this with a kitchenAid whisk attachment, but I really prefer an immersion blender (which KitchenAid also makes)
I usually make about 2 cups of whipping cream at a time.
1.Pull out your favorite powdered sugar and start a small sprinkle until you've found your happy place.
2.If you really feel like showing off or feeling fancy, add a drop or two of your favorite coloring. I love to coordinate the color of the whip with a fresh fruit the way I've shown you above. The possibilities are endless.
3. As you whip, keep a close eye, this dreamy fluff can go south quickly if you're not paying it close attention. No one wants that.
It can catch you off guard. One minute you're wondering if it should take this long and the next it's texture and sound immediately shifts and you've got a gorgeous whipped, all the fats, gently sweetened whipped cream.
4. Don't be stingy, apply liberally! You didn't take time out and roll up your sleeves to eat dry baked goods or fruit! Just know that it's roughly 95% fat, 3% carbs, 2% protein and 100% BLISS. You're welcome, ha! (Remember, you don't do this every day, but today you'll do it with joy <3)
It's beautiful and you can't believe you haven't made this before... What else can you put this on?!
